Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer position that just opened in Bloomington, MN. In this role, you will support the design, development, integration, and testing of mission-critical electrical hardware systems used in advanced airborne defense applications. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus at least 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree plus 6 years of experience.

Position: Electrical Hardware Design Engineer
Contract: 12–24 months or longer
Pay: $88.51/hour
Shift: 1st Shift

In this role, you will use your electrical hardware design expertise to:
• Support the full hardware development lifecycle from requirements analysis through integration and qualification
• Design complex electrical hardware systems for mission computers, sensor processors, and stores management hardware
• Perform schematic capture, define routing constraints, and support PCB/PWB layout and routing activities
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders to develop high-performance hardware solutions
• Support manufacturing, integration, testing, and qualification activities for hardware systems
• Utilize Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tool suite for hardware design and development
• Conduct signal integrity and power integrity analysis using HyperLynx tools
• Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and Ethernet network testers for validation and troubleshooting

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field plus 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s Degree plus 6+ years of experience
• Experience with electrical hardware and circuit card design
• Strong understanding of the hardware development lifecycle
• Experience with high-speed and high-density circuit card designs
• Knowledge of embedded processors, FPGAs, and advanced packaging techniques
• Experience with Siemens/Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools suite
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• U.S. Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with fiber optic interface designs
• Experience performing Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis
• Familiarity with HyperLynx analysis tools
• Advanced experience with oscilloscopes and Ethernet network testers
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Interest in applying AI tools for process improvement and innovation
