Position Summary
The Case Tagger supports a e-commerce inventory tracking pilot at DFW5 in Lancaster, TX. In this role, you will be stationed on the warehouse floor applying tags to online order cases, scanning them into a tracking platform using a handheld device. This is a fast-paced, standing-position role requiring attention to detail, consistent attendance, and reliable performance in a high-volume warehouse environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Physically apply (peel-and-stick) clients tags onto individual cases on pallets at your assigned depot.
  • Use a handheld barcode scanner to scan each clients tag and the corresponding our client’s shipping label, creating tracked assets in the clients platform.
  • Maintain a tagging pace of approximately 2 cases per minute throughout the shift (up to ~3,000 cases per day per person).
  • Track which pallets are staged for your assigned depot by monitoring dock door assignments.
  • Communicate with the on-site Lead/Supervisor if issues arise with scanning, tagging supplies, or unexpected discrepancies.
  • Follow all warehouse safety protocols — stay within designated work zones, be aware of forklift traffic and conveyor activity.
  • Attend onboarding/training before start date on scanner equipment and tagging procedures.

Work Environment

  • Standing for the duration of the shift — no seating provided at workstation.
  • Active distribution center floor with conveyor belts, forklifts, and pallet jacks in operation nearby.
  • Lifting individual cases (under 20 lbs) — no pallet moving or forklift operation required.
  • All equipment provided by the client (handheld scanner, tags, supplies).

Required Qualifications

  • Comfortable working in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
  • High attention to detail — accurate tagging and scanning on every unit is critical.
  • Reliable attendance — this is the #1 priority. Missing shifts directly impacts operations.
  • Ability to stand and work at a fast pace for the full shift duration.
  • Must be available for consistent overtime (~50 hrs/week, Mon–Fri).
  • Basic comfort with handheld scanning devices (training provided — prior experience is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Walmart, Amazon, or similar distribution/fulfillment center.
  • Experience with inventory scanning systems (RF guns, WMS, SAP-based tools).
  • Flexibility to work either shift is a strong plus.
