Position: Patient Access Rep
Pay Rate: $23.92/hr
Duration: 16 weeks
Expected Shift: 40 hrs/week
Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm
100% remote, local candidates only
SUMMARY
PAS is the first point of contact for patients seeking care at OHSU Ambulatory Clinics. This role supports a positive patient experience by coordinating new patient appointments, managing referrals, and ensuring accurate scheduling and intake from initial contact through appointment creation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule new patient appointments across medicine specialties following established guidelines
Handle high volume inbound and outbound calls, referrals, emails, and faxes
Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
Collect and document required clinical information and external medical records
Work referral and wait list queues to support timely access to care
Coordinate with providers, clinics, and referring practices
Accurately document all scheduling and referral activity in Epic
Deliver professional, courteous service and escalate issues as needed
Experience:
One year of medical office experience with high volume patient contact and scheduling
or
One and a half years in a high volume public facing role plus six months of medical office experience
Experience with electronic scheduling and electronic medical record systems
Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
