Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Registrar Non-Clinical to join our healthcare team in Wyoming, MI. This vital role ensures seamless patient intake, verifies insurance coverage, and maintains accurate records to support efficient hospital operations. The position offers a flexible part-time schedule, working evenings Monday through Friday, making it an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking meaningful work in a patient-centered environment.
Required Skills
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to accurately obtain and verify demographic and insurance information
- Familiarity with Epic systems and Real Time Eligibility (RTE)
- Cash handling and reconciliation experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
- Basic proficiency in data entry and administrative tasks
Nice to Have Skills
- College education (1-2 years preferred)
- Previous experience in hospital registration, billing, or medical office administration
- ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding knowledge
- Certified Healthcare Associate Certification (CHAA)
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare registration or administrative roles
- Experience with medical terminology, insurance verification, and cash handling
Other Requirements
- Availability to work on-call and during holiday schedules
- Ability to use a workstation on wheels (WOW) at bedside as needed
- Comfortable performing multiple duties, including patient scheduling and collection of co-pays
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of professionalism and patient service
