Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a CL – Senior Systems Engineer role to help develop mission-critical Cybersecurity Manager Applications for a rapidly growing defense product line supporting secure operations where reliability, systems rigor, and cross-functional execution are essential.

Due to the nature of the work performed, an active DoD Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship are required.

Work Schedule: First Shift 
Pay: 88.51 per hour
Contract Length: 12-24 months with possibility of going direct.
Clearance Required:
Active DoD Secret Clearance

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Support the development of mission-critical Cybersecurity Manager Applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and develop system solutions
  • Develop systems designs, including Use Cases, CONOPS, and requirements management artifacts
  • Create and execute test procedures to validate system functionality and performance
  • Work closely with software development teams to define system design specifications
  • Participate in integrated product team activities throughout the system lifecycle
  • Support system integration, verification, and validation efforts
  • Analyze technical requirements and translate them into system-level solutions
  • Provide technical direction and leadership on engineering activities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation, including the application of AI technologies
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of complex defense and cybersecurity systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, Technology, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline required
  • Minimum of 8 years of job-related experience, or
  • Master’s degree with 6 years of job-related experience
  • Agile development experience preferred

Clearance Requirements

  • Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire
  • Candidates must be eligible to maintain access to classified information
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within defense programs

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and practices
  • Experience developing Systems Design documentation including:
    • Use Cases
    • CONOPS (Concept of Operations)
    • Requirements Management
  • Test procedure development and execution experience
  • 3–5 years of experience collaborating with software teams to define systems design specifications
  • Experience with integrated product teams

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • SNMP and REST API knowledge
  • ESXi, operating systems, and virtual machine configuration experience
  • Network configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with DOORS or Cameo
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and digital certificate management
  • Protocol analysis using Wireshark
  • UX/UI design experience
