Program Lab Facilities Coordinator
Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Program Lab Facilities Coordinator position within their high-technology defense systems team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the standup, maintenance, and operation of development and test laboratories for cybersecurity programs supporting U.S. Navy Submarines. The position combines hands-on hardware integration, lab infrastructure coordination, asset management, testing support, and cross-functional collaboration. The position is based in Manassas, VA and is fully on-site.

Position: Program Lab Facilities Coordinator
Contract Length: 12–24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay Rate: $54.91 per hour
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience OR Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience; equivalent experience considered
Schedule: First Shift
Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance required at time of hire (U.S. citizenship required)
In this role, you will use your technical and interpersonal skills to:
- Assemble and configure development and test lab environments for cybersecurity programs.
- Build and install test racks, servers, switches, KVMs, and supporting hardware components.
- Perform rack integration, cable management, and network connectivity setup.
- Install and configure COTS and GOTS software on server platforms.
- Manage equipment and property tracking for both government and company assets.
- Support laboratory planning activities including layout design, power requirements, cooling requirements, and facility coordination.
- Develop Bills of Material (BOMs) and coordinate hardware procurement activities.
- Track hardware lead times and coordinate equipment deliveries.
- Support troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and RMA processes with vendors and suppliers.
- Conduct formal and informal testing to validate system requirements.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot Information Assurance (IA) software.
- Analyze requirements documentation and develop methods for validation and testing.
- Assist with development of test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Communicate technical and project-related issues to management and stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience assembling, integrating, and testing computer hardware and laboratory equipment.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, and encryption technologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to organize and manage hardware assets, inventory, and configuration tracking.
- Basic Linux command-line experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, facilities, and program teams.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting submarine combat control or weapon systems.
- Experience within cybersecurity environments or programs.
- Knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) software and testing processes.
- Ability to read and understand C, C++, or Java source code.
- Cybersecurity certifications.
- Experience supporting classified DoD environments and laboratory operations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and development environments.
